I am not a fan of Tim Robbins, who I can never take seriously as an actor for some reason. The way some people feel about Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt, when they can’t get into movies because they can’t see past the people, is exactly how I feel about Tim. So that made it really hard for me to love The Player. A good, funny movie. But for me, it’s shy of greatness.
