Wife’s pick. I hadn’t seen this since its release, and I remembered it being worse than it actually is. A lot of shots that made me pine for Beauty and the Beast, but that’s a high bar. It’s hard to argue this is worse than The Little Mermaid or Aladdin. Good songs centred around a paper-thin story that at least isn’t as painfully cringey as Wicked. A couple good laughs. It’s good family entertainment. (I continue to hold the theory the reason this is so successful is because young girls like Disney princesses, and this film has twice the amount of princesses as usual.)

All that being said, Olaf and the continued trend of dumb Timon and Pumba-like” sidekicks will be the death of me. I hope the pendulum swings fully back towards sincere filmmaking over the next decade.
