Watched with a first-timer who proclaimed this as one of the best movies he’d ever seen. Many others have noted this, but I think it really comes into its own after the first act when we’re down to just one survivor, and the stakes immediately escalate. 

I love the second half of the film, though, with the baby and the singing in the forest. Something about those sequences connects with me at some sort of subatomic level.
