Stupendous performances, and Lumet’s camerawork is (as usual) extremely confident. I always love the women in his films; they’re so much more than they appear every time. Stupendous filmmaking in nearly every measure, but I’m not sure it needs to be so slow. There are shots that drag too long, scenes that open far too early. In these moments, we see Lumet’s confidence on full display. But it’s hubris.

Great final scene though. Took me a minute and left me something to think about and chew on.
