Kind of overrated. The Conversation does a better job nailing the feeling of paranoia, and a million better procedurals exist at this point. Popeye really has no good motivation or cause here. It’s really hard to get excited about watching cops be bad at their job in 2022.
It’s good, but honestly? Overrated.
Another thing, while I’m here: they really need to fix the audio for this. I saw this 10 years ago with no subs and couldn’t understand a word they said. This time I turned on subs, and I’m glad I did. This movie has a lot of visual substance, but it sounds like it was recorded in a tin can. Where’s the restoration? We should take better care of our art.
