Never saw the Queen Latifah remake but I bet it has a whole lot less to say than this. Has a lore more in common with indie darlings like French Exit or Grand Budapest Hotel than it does anything from Queen Latifah’s ouvre. A distinguished and relatively quiet film with a standout performance from Guinness.
A quick note: this could really use a restoration and some proper subtitles. Audio is really showing its age.
