I haven’t seen all of Gary’s work, but I said Objectified was his best. Now that I’ve seen Urbanized, I take that back. Urbanized is his best work. I’m not sure it ever gets deeper than surface level — I don’t know enough about urban design to say — but there’s a lot to chew on here.
The sequences about Stuggart and Beijing, in particular, were both well done.
What I’m left with is a feeling that I get about only the best documentaries: this would make an excellent Netflix mini-series, with more time given to explore each city. And I would watch the crap out of it.
