There is so much here that is so good. Everything folks have already said is true. But while the movie hits you over the head by the end, there is a tremendous subtext about rejecting God’s will for your life in Judaic culture happening throughout. I loved this movie. It did everything right for me, including its utter and intense focus on exhuming this one particular theme. I’d say more, but don’t want to risk spoilers. If you can tolerate a film about a degenerate gambler, you should watch this.
