The Canadian election is tomorrow and this seemed like the perfect thing to watch beforehand, for a variety of obvious reasons. You can’t really talk about Network without getting political, but I’ll try.

It blew my mind the first time I saw it and it continues to blow my mind every time I watch it. In my opinion, one of the most flawless scripts ever written. Every performance is sterling, Lumet is stellar, and the last 30 minutes takes huge risks and totally pays each of them off. An unmitigated powerhouse of a film.

Also, remarkably prescient, yadda yadda yadda, as they say.
