Some thoughts:
- undoubtedly the best M:I movie
- Tom Cruise is both the best part of this movie and a serious liability. Every amazing stunt and sequence feels like a shrine to great film-making, but simultaneously an ode to his ego.
- Loved the practical effects and stunts, which are simply unbelievable
- The score is phenomenal
- Cavill is unreal and one of the most intimidating physical presences onscreen in recent memory
- seriously, Tom Cruise is the worst and Ethan Hunt is such a boring character
- that third act! Those chase sequences! That HALO drop!
- this is nowhere near the art of Fury Road, and I don’t understand anybody who thinks otherwise
