Five stars for Deakins’ photography, which raises the whole film. Some excellent stunt work. The first half is genuinely great. After that, it sort of falls off the rails as the stakes get smaller and smaller. Bond’s past interests me very little as a plot mechanism, but unfortunately, Mendes started a trend with Skyfall.
Hard to fault the visuals, though.
