Took way too long to watch this and I am dying to see the black and white version now. A modern take on Godzilla (both the character and the 1954 film) that finally captures the spirit of the original. So smart to wrap it all up into the trauma of men with PTSD. Little twists do just enough to update this for modern audiences and modern Japanese culture, but don’t take away anything from the heart of the original. I was genuinely moved.
A triumph.
