Like Raging Bull and Full Metal Jacket and Taxi Driver, but for jazz heads. My favourite part is how wet and grimy all the closeups of instruments are. They’re as sweaty as the musicians who play them. Totally glorious.
Watched it with first timers, one of whom went to art school and appeared to be having a panic attack for the film’s duration.
