The minute it slows down to get emotional, the third act doesn’t stand a chance. But this was the hardest I’ve laughed in a long time, and I enjoyed the absolute heck out of this. If it weren’t for Barbie’s existence, this would probably be the movie of the year for me.

The whole main trio was stupendous, but Jamie Foxx made me laugh so hard I had to rewind a little bit to catch my breath and see whatever I had just missed. It took us 2.5 hours to finish this, and it was entirely my fault. I genuinely couldn’t breathe for most of the first hour. I choked on a sip of beer and nearly died 20 minutes in or so during a spontaneous guffaw.
