Lightning in a bottle. Somehow I transported myself to when I was 5 years old and seeing this for the first time in 1996. I remember watching the VHS tape until I wore it out. Every Special Edition addition or change still sticks out like a sore thumb to me, decades later, which is how seared the original is in my brain from wearing out the tapes.
It’s an incredible world building experience — at once mythical and mystical. George Lucas really was on to something. Amazing how far this franchise has fallen: it and its fan base have no idea what it is anymore.
