Hard to rate this because it’s only half a movie, really, but if forced to rate a first half, I’d land here.
I’m still not entirely convinced this needed to be a two-part film, and I sort of wonder how this would have been in an alternate universe (haha) where we got two unique Spider Stories.
That being said, despite my misgiving about how generally overstuffed this feels right now, it’s really hard to say without seeing the second half. Looking forward to revisiting and revising this opinion when the third comes out.
