I don’t recall the last time I saw such a perfectly cast movie. Everybody in this is pitch perfect. It’s got the same sort of old-timey Hollywood feel as La La Land, which is hard not to love. But more importantly, this is a great script, beautifully shot and impeccably acted. Gerwig has outdone herself.

It’s emotional, heartfelt, and a ton of fun. I found myself thinking that the whole thing felt preachy and over the top, and imaging a more subtle version of the film. But that wouldn’t make sense for a movie about a plastic doll come to life: subtlety isn’t the play here.

Considered a 5 star review, but need to let it sit and see it again. Clearly, based on the exuberant word of mouth alone, this is something special.
