Crazy to think that this was Cleary’s directorial debut. Elements here could use a little more polish; occasionally the film feels more twee than its concept allows, and sometimes it feels too serious for its own good. I also wish the colour palette was just a little more refined. But at the same time, Cleary and the cast made me feel something. And they really got me with the last scene.
