Third time watching this. First time was over a decade ago. I thought it was terribly boring. Second time was last year. I wrote here that I thought it was a little detached. And yet, it hasn’t given up its hold on me since that viewing.

Finally sat down to watch it again and share it with others in the family. After three viewings, I finally see what everybody else sees. I’m swept up in it. It’s enchanting. Riveting. One of a kind. A true masterpiece in every fashion. A haunting, romantic, heroic tragedy, and one of cinema’s greatest gifts to us all.
