We bought these in 4K and for some reason I wanted to watch this one fist. Hadn’t seen it in a decade, maybe longer. The first half is much better than I remembered, and the second half is much worse. You can tell Spielberg didn’t believe in the MacGuffin here at all. I don’t mind the fridge sequence (it’s not like Raiders was especially grounded), but the vines and the giant ants are too far for me. Then the aliens show up in the lost city of the Mayans (or something) and it all just falls off a cliff.
