The first act didn’t do much for me, but I was engrossed once things settled in. The second half of the movie is basically perfect. Adored the final shot.
While I understand that the zither score apparently swept the world by storm, it mostly annoyed me and pulled me out of the movie. I would much rather have heard a selection of stringed instruments, like most other noirs of the era.
