Bursting with originality — a good bit of fun. I saw this about 10 years ago and hated it. I’m not sure what I was thinking.
I wish De Niro’s story was a little fleshed out; I hoped he and his crew would return in the third act. Otherwise, Gaiman’s story delivers the goods. Neil Gaiman and Stephen King are both operating in a different stratosphere and represent the pinnacle of their craft, but Gaiman’s film and television adaptations seem to work out better than King’s. Very interesting.
