The ending guts me. I can never decide if this is better than the first, but it’s certainly much harder to watch. Watching 1 and 2 back to back is an incredible experience — it’s mind blowing how much larger the budget for 2 very obviously is. It’s a much larger, more expansive film. Where 1 is intimate, this sprawls. It’s cold. It’s detached. It’s not unlike its antihero.
