Entertaining, but the statement Peele’s making doesn’t hold up to any scrutiny. It’s the rare example of a film that is simultaneously under and over cooked. I saw the final “twist” coming from the opening scene (I can’t be the only one; it was so telegraphed and obvious).
Finally, and this is perhaps the most frustrating part: Peele’s interest in questions and aversion to answers in Us is rivalled only by JJ Abrams’ movies. Us could have been better and more fully fleshed out than it is.
