It’s better than 3 and the Garfield movies, but those are pretty low bars. Villain exposition abounds, in a pretty painful way, and the second half of the movie was a dud for me. Very similar in tone to Iron Man 3, which also really didn’t work for me.
Holland is great, and it’s great comedy — which is how Spider-Man should be. And great credit scenes too. But Homecoming was a significantly stronger movie.
