I don’t get the hype. Kids making bad decisions with the narrative tension and emotional payoffs of a flat piece of string. Made me sad and angry. Hill understands youthful rage and naïveté but doesn’t want to share those understandings with the rest of us. He’d rather leave us feeling as discomforted and unsettled as the kids.
