The first hour is tedious and the second hour is excellent, and every previous Pixar movie had mined similar themes to much deeper and better effect. But despite the amateur storytelling, Pixar’s attention to visual detail and world building is laudable and spectacular.

How have we had two sequels to this and only one sequel to The Incredibles? And why is there such a focus on pop songs instead of composed music?
