My wife couldn’t believe I hadn’t seen this, and now that I have, neither can I. By far the best dance movie I’ve ever seen.

Here’s why it works: there’s an actual story, with relatable characters, who are going through some serious life things. And dancing doesn’t save the world or their lives — it’s actively destroying many of their lives. And even better, dancing is used to develop character more so than it is to show off dance moves (although there’s a lot of that too).

Just a classy movie all around. Good writing. Great characters. Great cast. Fun.
