Significantly better than the first entry in the series, with a far more compelling story and a much better third act. It’s held back by what feels like a formula only two films (books) into the franchise. Looking back though, it’s hard to see why critics preferred Philosopher’s Stone. Hermione’s absence during the third act here is sorely missed, though.
